Word List: Easy

The third part of our ASVAB Word Knowledge Study Guide features a word list with ‘easy’ vocabulary words. There’s no way to know exactly which words will appear on the ASVAB, but the words on this list are representative of the types of words you will see on the ASVAB. We have ranked these 50 words as ‘easy,’ but don’t feel bad if you don’t know them all. Just read through the definitions and then practice these words with our review quiz at the bottom of the page. Try not to use the table when answering the review questions to truly test your recall of the information.

Dissent To disagree with or differ from the majority, often a political party, government, or church
Dupe To deceive or fool someone; a person who is easily fooled
Effective Adequate to accomplish a purpose; functioning
Erect In an upright position; to build or construct
Frugal Not wasteful; spending very little
Impair To damage or cause to become worse
Incite To encourage or prompt to action
Induce Bring about, produce, or cause; to persuade or influence someone
Inform To give knowledge about a fact or circumstance
Jeer To shout at or taunt someone
Jeopardy Hazard or risk of harm; danger
Juvenile Young; a young person
Keen Sharp; extremely responsive; intense in feeling

Plight An unfavorable condition or situation
